About SportsMuntra

SportsMuntra is a cricket reference site. We answer the cricket questions people actually search — what a rule means, who holds a record, how a tournament works, and where a match is being shown — and we keep those answers current.

The site has been publishing since 2014. It went quiet for a stretch while its owner worked on other projects, and was rebuilt from scratch in 2026 — new design, new editorial standards, and the old thin and off-topic pages removed rather than carried over.

What we publish

• Plain-English explanations of the Laws and the terminology — powerplay, super over, DRS, strike rate, every mode of dismissal.
• Record books and leaderboards, updated as records fall rather than left at the year they were written.
• League and tournament guides: how the IPL, PSL, BBL, BPL, The Hundred and the ICC calendar are actually structured.
• Fixture and broadcast pages that tell you when a match starts in your timezone and which licensed broadcaster is showing it.

How we source facts

Every figure on this site is traceable. Records come from ESPNcricinfo's Statsguru, ICC and the relevant board; Law references come from the MCC Laws of Cricket. Where a number changes with every match, we date it and say so on the page rather than pretend it is permanent. Broadcast listings link to the official rights holder only — we do not link to unlicensed streams, and we do not publish betting tips or odds.

Who writes this

Articles carry a named byline and every writer has a profile page listing what they cover. Where a section is maintained by the editorial team rather than one person, the byline says so — we do not invent authors.

SportsMuntra is independently owned and operated by Khabir Uddin. We are not owned by, or affiliated with, any league, team, governing body or manufacturer. Any commercial relationship that could affect what we publish is disclosed on the page it affects.
